Yaya Linda

For today's post, I chose Zion's ever-reliable nanny - Yaya Linda - as subject. This is still part of my "tribute to family" layouts. Yaya Linda has been with us since Zion was 1 week old (he's now 2 years old.. Ü). Yaya Linda has been like a second grandmother to Zion. She never fails to keep Zion healthy, safe, and out of trouble (hehehe.. Ü). Cheers to you Yaya Lindz! Ü

An Experiment in Black & White

I tried to shoot two birds with one stone in this post. First bird to shoot is to create a layout for my cousin (as part of my goal to create layouts dedicated to my family). The second bird I tried to shoot is to try creating a layout in black & white. Featured in this post is my cousin Josie, who's been like a younger sister to me since time immemorial. To note, Josie is one of Zeegy's godmothers (ninang), and have been a very great help in manning the house.

Credits for this layout go out to the Urban Kiwi Collection from shabbyprincess.com (background, white stitches for the border, black&white lace near the text). Splendid Collection still at shabbyprincess.com for the stitched "X" at the borders of the pics).

The Heart of a Champion

I really wanted to do layouts for my family. This time, I give tribute to my brother Philip. A member of the his school's Taekwondo team, I am proud to say that my brother has won several competitions at his young age of 15. Soon (this August I think), he will be taking his promotion exams to become a full-fledged black belter. Good luck bro! I am so proud to have you as my brother and one of my best friends. :-)

The Leader of the Band

Here's my second post for the day. After making a post-Mother's-Day-post for my everdearest Mama, it's but right to create one also for my everdearest Daddy. It's also my simple way of thanking him for all the little and big things he's done for me and Zion. And similar to what I did for my Mama's post, here's a song (well, a portion of it...) which I dedicate to my Daddy - the true Leader of the Band.

I thank you for the music
And your stories of the road
I thank you for the freedom
When it came my time to go --
I thank you for the kindness
And the times when you got tough
And, pap, I dont think I
Said I love you near enough --

The leader of the band is tired
And his eyes are growing old
But his blood runs through
My instrument
And his song is in my soul --
My life has been a poor attempt
To imitate the man
Im just a living legacy
To the leader of the band
I am the living legacy
To the leader of the band.

Mama Mia

My recent post gives tribute to one of the most influential women in my life - my Mama. This is a post-Mother's-Day-Post to show her how much I love her and how much I appreciate all the little and big things she has done for me and Zion. To match this post, I dedicate the song below to my Mama - Mama by the Spice Girls. Lyrics are so applicable to us.. Hehehehe...

She used to be my only enemy and never let me be free
Catching me in places that I knew I should'nt be
Every other day I crossed the line I didn't mean to be so bad
I never thought you would become the friend I never had
Back then I didn't know why
Why you were misunderstood
So now I see through your eyes
All that you did was love
Mama I love you.Mama I care
Mama I love you . Mama my friend.
You're my friend
I didn't want to hear it then but I'm not ashamed to say it now
Every little thing you said and did was right for me
I had a lot of to think about, about the way I usedto be
Never had a sense of my responsibility
Back then I didn't know why
Why you were misunderstood
So now I see through your eyes, all that you did was love
Mama, I love you. Mama, I care
Mama, I love you. Mama ,my friend. You're my friend
But now I'm sure I know why,
Why you were misunderstood
So now I see through your eyes
All I can give you is love is love
Mama I love you. Mama, I care
Mama, I love you. Mama, my friend,You're my friend
Mama, I love you, Mama ,I care
Mama, I love you, Mama, my friend, You're my friend

Newborn Happines II

As promised here's the 2nd part of the Newborn Happiness series. This layout shows how Zion appears to react to the camera. All these pictures were taken while he was still resting on his Nursery bed, just a few days after he was born. As his mom, I'm so proud of my little Zion. At birth, his face and features are already defined. He has thick hair. And his eyes already show intelligence coupled with his being naughty (Manang-mana sa Mommy! Hehehe..).

Newborn Happiness

This should've been my very first blog entry. Hehehe... =) Anyway, this post shows Zion's very first moments on earth, including a scene from the delivery/operating room, and the actual baby ID that was placed in his nursery bed. I will TRY (hehehe...) to create another post that would show he appears to be responding to the camera whenever we tried to get pictures of him from the Nursery.
